Rejoice in the Lord Always!
Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Oct. 15, 78 of us gathered in worship to give praise and thanks to God, the creator and sustainer of life, and the source of every good thing. We heard the words of the apostle, Paul, to the Philippians, “Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I say, Rejoice!”
During worship, we remembered that everything we have is a gift from God meant to be shared for the sake of the Gospel life loving and serving God and neighbor. We filled out pledge cards and made our commitments to support The Spirit Moves Us! Capital Campaign over these next three years as we seek to purchase and develop property and plant deep roots in the community to continue to live out our mission of sharing God’s love in the world.
Our financial goal for the campaign was $300,000.
Yesterday we received 44 pledges totaling $382,000!
We rejoiced yesterday, we continue to rejoice today, and we invite you to rejoice with us.
Thanks be to God!
Thanks be to God for the gifts we have received that we are able to share.
Thanks be to God for each and every one of you for your faithful partnership in living out our mission to be God’s people centered in Christ, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and sent to share God’s love in the world.
We also give thanks for Pastor Kathy Haueisen and the Mission Investment Fund of the ELCA for their partnership in the process, and for the Campaign Leadership Team: Wally Wilson, Becky Rische, Beverly Rosson, Larry Rosson, Dick Tomhave, Steve Youngdahl, Lisa Baker, and Elise Brazier.
I will continue to rejoice in the success of this campaign. Not only because of the fact that we have come well past our financial goal and will be in a great position to purchase and develop land to call our own. But also for the ways in which we have been united in prayer and vision, the relationships that have been deepened in conversations about the future of Spirit in the Hills, and for the commitment of you to live out your calling to be God’s people, to share the good news in word and deed, and to love and serve God and neighbor in this place now and into the future.
Grace and peace,
