Fire Relief

Short-term Assistance
As we meet the people who have suffered this devastation, Spirit in the Hills will offer assistance depending on their needs and our resources.   If you would like to make a cash donation, you may make your check out to Spirit in the Hills and designate in the memo area that it is for the Spicewood fire.  We are also accepting gift cards for gas (HEB is offering a 11 cent discount if you pay with an HEB gift card), food -New Flower Market, HEB, Randall’s; clothing – Target, Wal-Mart.  It is very true that you don’t miss the necessities until we don’t have them.  If you purchase a Visa gift card, please check that it doesn’t charge a fee.

We are also asking for volunteers to help dig through the ashes or just be of service to someone.  If you are available please contact (Enable Javascript to see the email address) to let us know the times you can help out.

Longer-Term Assistance
We have some storage available for items that you would like to donate.  The need may or may not be immediate, but you may contact (Enable Javascript to see the email address) to let us know what you have to donate, and we will try to match it up with someone when they are ready.

As we find out more of the specific needs of the fire victims, we will keep you posted.

Thanks you so much for your help and keep them all in your prayers.

Pastor Liz
Many of you have been asking what can be done for Pastor Liz and have been looking for ways to help her in this time of need.  She has been in contact with her insurance company and through a first check issued by them and the generous donations that many of you have already given her, her immediate needs are being met.  Unfortunately it does appear that insurance will be short of replacing many of the lost items.  She has a temporary place to stay and due to the size is not in a great position to receive a lot of physical things at the moment.   Once Pastor Liz has decided to buy or rent and gets a permanent home again, we are hoping to have her register at some local stores so that any who wish can purchase a gift for a housewarming party that our congregation will give for her.  We will continue to look for other ways we can help Pastor Liz and as always, your prayers and concerns are huge gifts during this life-altering time.
